"A Chamberlin Christmas"

Posted by varrin7 Dec. 23, 2009 @ 6:13 PM EST

First off:

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Next:

I've uploaded the first track of an album I'm making for my family, called "A Chamberlin Christmas". The first track is an orchestral version of "Carol of the Bells". I'm also working on an orchestration of "Silent Night".

Here's the album cover I made for it, nothing too fancy, but I like it:

Newgrounds Classical Podcast!

Posted by varrin7 Sep. 27, 2009 @ 4:00 PM EDT

I am starting a podcast for the classical artists of the AP!
I've created a profile for it, which can be found here: NCP

The first episode can be found on itunes, just search "ncp". I will upload the episodes to NG at a later date.
If you have any suggestions, or want to nominate someone for a future episode (no self nominations) just pm the NCP profile. I'll be checking it as often as I can!

ON a side note, I'm finally getting some composition lessons. Hopefully this will drastically improve my skills as a composer.

BYEEEEE!

My music in a game?!?!? I think I might faint.

Posted by varrin7 Aug. 19, 2009 @ 11:37 AM EDT

For the past month or so, I have been helping EvilKris work on his new game, which I believe will be titled "Insanity". I've written a few tracks for him, one of which is a theme that is referenced in a couple instances, and the Toybox theme, which he uses to a great extent, which of course I'm am very excited about. I think any artist who has had their music used like this knows the feeling, knowing that your creations are being used to make something great. The game is in it's final phase of testing, and should be available shortly. I think he already has a previous version of the game on NG, but it's nothing compared to this final version.

Anyways, Kris is a great guy, who has given me, and I believe SineRider as well as Sorohanro a chance to put our music out to a greater audience.

I hope that this is the beginning of many things to come.

Orchestration Contest Entry!

Posted by varrin7 Aug. 14, 2009 @ 1:10 PM EDT

I finished my entry for Nathan Pinard's contest, "My Last Step", which was named by ironmaidenrocker. Thanks for the title man! So get over there a give it a listen will ya!? I really like this one, and IMO it's my best piece yet. I hope the audio community, as well as the contest judges, agree.

No, it's not the all-time 50 best audio list, but it is the Top 50 of the Classical genre, and lookie what I found ! Sure, it's not number one, but it's a start.

edit: just looked again and I saw that Pine Forest is also on the list!

RAM, audio, and Holst!

Posted by varrin7 Jul. 27, 2009 @ 9:49 PM EDT

So I worked out the kinks in my computer, which means I'm ready to go! I bought some more memory too, just to make sure I have enough for my newly acquired EWQL Symphonic Orchestra library. I've already submitted two entries that use this awesome library:

Pine Forest
To the Frontlines

And now, a piece that I have become a big fan of. A while ago I searched for classical "classics", to see some of the things I have missed, and this is one of the first things that came up, and I instantly fell in love with it (and proceeded to buy it on itunes.)

Ladies and gentleman, Jupiter from The Planets, by Gustav Holst.....

SURPRISE!!!

Posted by varrin7 Jul. 20, 2009 @ 7:13 PM EDT

Please look at my audio!

Now for something that is a little less spammish: I will not be submitting any new stuff for a while because I'm having troubles with some new software. Hopefully it won't take long to get things fixed, but until then anyone who actually KNOWS about me will notice a lack of new stuff.
